Afternoon Arias and Glamour on the Green
Jessica will be performing a private outdoor concert on Sunday 13th September (email for the zoom link) and returning to Glamour on the Green in Wanstead.

Come and Sing
Jessica has continued her technique sessions around London, most recently hosted by the East London Chorus working on Mahler’s 2nd Symphony.

 

Biography

Line

Jessica Norton is a freelance choral conductor, vocal coach, teacher and professional soprano. She is currently Musical Director of the East London Chorus, London Concord Singers and Henley Youth Choirs, and has recently finished working with the London Orpheus Choir. Previously she has also worked with the London Symphony Chorus, Milton Keynes Chorale, the News International Choir and St Michael’s Church, Bray, having previously had repeat invitations to conduct at CBSO and LSO chorus Come and Sing Days. She was also a conductor in David Lang’s UK Premiere of “Public Domain” in the Barbican Centre.

As a vocal coach Jessica leads workshops in schools across Henley, St Mary’s School in Cambridge and Hallfield Primary School in Birmingham. She also runs Come and Sing days and sessions at corporate events. Jessica sings solo soprano for choirs across London and beyond, including the London Symphony Chorus, Ealing Common Choir and Harwich and Dovercourt Choral Society, has sung on ITV’s The Halcyon” and is the featured soprano at Wanstead’s opera gala “Glamour on the Green”.

Jessica is also a keen composer and her choral pieces have been premiered in such prestigious venues as Guildford Cathedral, the Victoria Rooms in Bristol and Chevy Chase United Methodist Church in Washington, DC. Alongside her compositions Jessica also edits music for singer/songwriter Archie Smith, and has received multiple commissions from Guildhall students in London.

Composition

Line

Jessica has been commissioned to write and edit music across the UK, America and Germany, including choral compositions, film scores, full orchestrations and arrangements. These have been performed in prestigious venues such as Guildford Cathedral, Chevy Chase United Methodist Church in Washington DC and Victoria Rooms in Bath. She has also transcribed orchestral parts for such pieces as Lotus Feet by Steve Vai and most recently edited the string accompaniment for Paris by singer/songwriter Archie Smith.
